  1. A good broker can save you from being stupid. But they are hard to find.

  2. Full service stock brokers are pretty expensive. So if you have $150,000 or more you might want a stock broker. But for the smaller accounts online trading is fine.

You can trade on a Schwab online account for $12.95 a trade. There are other online trading companies that even offer lower commissions. TDAmeritrade, Etrade, Firsttrade, etc.

But unless you want some work researching different companies stocks, I would stay with ETFs and/or Mutual Funds.

    Good luck

  3. Depends on the amount you will be investing. For small stuff online is fine. I signed up with Scottrade and it is easy to understand, good research tools and only $7 a trade. If you want you can message me and for a referral you get 7 free trades.

  4. stock broker is expensive, trading online cheap
stock broker you get more helps, trading online you on your own.
Personally, I think Sogotrade is best among all online brokerages. You can get a lot of free trades: about 100 free trades with 500 minimum deposits. It has very good customer services, it also has live help, and you can chat with representatives about any question. After that, only 3 dollar for each trade, pretty sweet when compared with other online brokerages.Referral code: 453934
